Gayle and Tom Austin opened In The Skin Tattoo and Piercing in 2000. In The Skin just moved to a newly constructed facility in October of 2007. Gayle had a negative experience with an artist when she got her first tattoo in the mid 1990's. She felt that "we can do this and be nice about it." In The Skin was founded with the belief that the client comes first. A lot of studios say that, but it is not lip service in this case. For example, at night, ladies are escored to their cars and in case of rain an umbrella is always available. The shop is old school (as Tom is old) and they believe, "If we take care of our people, they'll take care of us." It must as In The Skin has experienced a minimum of 10% growth each year. The shops artists are Gayle, Michelle, and Franke. Piercing is performed by Gustav and Tom. Eddie is the shop manager and keeps everyone on the right path. As you can tell, the staff at In the Skin likes to smile and have fun. They always want every client to leave with a smile.
